They Made Me Proud

Now that was a great football game. I did a little play by play to Monkey Boy as while they have the internets in Sri Lanka, they do not have the sports event channel. I feel all ESPNey and stuff.

I get a lovely spinal tap with chemo, aka the inter.the.cal, tomorrow. How sad is it that I'm not the least worried about a four inch needle in my spine? I'm a pro by now.

I did have my first blog reader, CJ, sign up for the National Bone Marrow Registry. How exciting! He did it in Temple, Texas and said they did not charge him. Now that's cool. I would love it if he got the call someday to save someone's life. I am hoping to keep track of anyone who registered because of me. I don't have a numeric goal yet, but I want to set one up.

Today. Uneventful. Ate like a squirrel.

Your assignment for today is to eat some veggies. My counts are low, so I have to stay away, so eat some raw greenies for me, por favor. Get you some of the good stuff too.

Who knew that winning would have such an effect on me.

Hook 'em!!

deb, if you don't mind, i'm going to link to you on my site. (no worries, i just like to give a heads up to site-owners before i add the link--i've found links to my site on astrology sites, and other goofy places.)

Also, my husband did not find a match through the bone marrow registry, but Johns Hopkins in md was able to do a non-matched transplant with his brother (they were a half-match, different blood types). They've only been doing the procedure since 2001, so there is no data on the long-term effects, but so far things have gone swimmingly.
Eventually, my husband's blood type will change from O+ (what he was pre-transplant) to A+ (his brother's type).

I didn't know that they could do this--and it's amazing to me. Just thought that I'd share.

I heard the results of the Rose Bowl this morning and did a "hook 'em horns" just for you. (I have no idea if I said that right.)

I have to go find some greens...

Oh and unfortunately, there is no bone marrow registry locally (or in the State for that matter). I do donate blood on a regular basis.

I was so glad that the Longhorns won just for you. That was nice of them. ;) I ate my veggies and my fruit today, and thought of you. Now I need to remember to call the bone marrow registry tomorrow to find out if they will take me, since the blood center won't thanks to having lived in Germany. Meanies.

I missed the game. Was it played in the rain?
