I'm all stem celled up.
And Sis #2 came bearing gifts. (edit.. oops Sis #1)
The day started off pretty bad (major horkage), but is turning out to be a beautiful day.
Thanks for all the support. It means more to me than I could ever express.
I love you internets.
I can do this. I have birthday muffins.
Your assignment for today is to fill yourself with joy. There is so much to be grateful for, so I want you to find it today and cherish it. Do something fun with your kids, spouse, friends, or just by yourself. Be your own Hallmark card. I'm loving today. And I'll see you next year at my 1st birthday.
Posted by debutaunt at February 27, 2006 12:35 PMHey Deb! Happy birthday! Your post made me smile and smile! I'll do my best with your assignment.

"MOM" sing her the Birthday song. Since I can't
sing the song to you. Here you go. But before
you get this "song". Today is one of the greatest
day's in your life. Let's hear a big round of
applause for DEBUMA, and her Family, and all these
Internet folks. A special thanks to Brother Donor
for making it all possible.
Now your birthday song.
Birthday Boogaloo
What a super day it is;
the one day of the year
we get to celebrate the fact
that you're even here -- it's your birthday!
Happy birthday to you!
We're gonna have some fun today;
it's all because of you.
So grab your friends and make 'em dance
a birthday boogaloo -- on your birthday!
Happy birthday to you!
Any other day is just
any other day of the year,
but today we want to celebrate
'cause we're so thankful you're even here
-- oh yeah!
Bake yourself a birthday wish
and blow the candles out.
Do a backward somersault
and jump and twist and shout -- it's your birthday!
Happy birthday to you!
Before your birthday's over
there's one thing I want to do;
if I may, I'd love to dance
a boogaloo with you -- on your birthday!
Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday to you!
Do the birthday boogaloo!
It's your birthday!
Happy birthday to you!
(And many more....)

Your sister sent us a message that you were having bone marrow transplant today and I posted that on the Metblog, was that wrong? If so, I will correct the metblog post and my email to all the H-town bloggers! Regardless, I hope you have a fine day! I have those same monkey PJs and they are the only PJs I like wearing right now!!!

Posted by: MommyMe at February 27, 2006 03:47 PMYo Debu!
Am I Sis #1 or Sis#2???? Because, I don't want to be Sis#2 because its #2 and all. Ew.
I like the concept of the birthday. That when you get a transplant, they call it your new birthday. That you start over, with a new life, a new immune system and hopefully a good start.
I will email the muffin recipe. It rocks. I can no longer eat store bought muffins because they suck.
Posted by: Sis#1 at February 27, 2006 04:00 PMYEA!! Lets let the prayers continue!! The new stems are in, and its a wonderful Monday! (hmmm, how often is a Monday wonderful?) Today it is!
THIS fills me with you, so the assignment is already done. This, meaning your new stems are in, and you let us all know.
After I get done studying for European Union Law, I may do the assignment all over again. (I take frequent breaks to check in on ya)
I just wanted to let you know that I am scheduled to go in for Apheresis on the 18th. At that time I will register with the mone marrow registry.
Thank you for motivating me to do this.
Posted by: Missy at February 27, 2006 04:10 PMWow! Great! New Cells! Does each one have it's own ring tone so you can tell them apart?
Posted by: Dick (No, really) at February 27, 2006 04:39 PMI wish I could stand on a mountain top and scream
WOO HOO DEBUMA. As SIS #1 said, this B-day represents a new immune system, and a new you. What
I call NMC "no-mo-cancer".
I am a list maker. Here's a little list for
DEBUMA Queen of Delft, Queen of the Universe.
1. Just say not to BARFING.
2. EAT, EAT, EAT.
3. NO LURKER GUYS
4. DEBUMA has 30 days at the RITZ aka
M.D. Anderson we need at least 50 comments
a day until she is released.
5. Doesn't matter what you say. Just say Hi
or tell her what you had for dinner. Tell
her a joke. Tell her anything. Just "talk".
6. Think about giving blood, think really hard.
7. Tonight thank God if you are healthy
8. Thank God for the power of these folks
that come here and leave msgs.
9. Be very glad I am almost finished here.
10. We love you DEBUMA
Nikki
PS Save me a muffin OK?
