Pinkity Pink Pink

Someone is just like her momma.

When they went to "Build A Bear" Workshop, Zoe made the most pink pink pink poodle dog with a pink miniskirt. Yesterday she brought it and wanted me to have it. My child is so awesome. So awesome.

My doctor is working on getting me off the IV meds and onto oral medications. He said we should know by Thursday if I will be ok to get out on Friday. I really hope so. I am sooo beyond ready to get to my apartment, to see my folks, to eat my mom's cooking and to sleep like crazy.

I have been feeling pretty ok. Not eating a whole lot because the taste in my mouth is still kind of yuck. Water tastes like metal. And I'm finally sick of all the food on the menu. Sis #1 is on her way with some pizza from heaven (aka Paulies), so I'm hoping that it hits the spot. I didn't eat much for breakfast, so I'm a wee bit hungry.

Pray like the dickens that I am meant to get out of here this week. I need it. I need out of here.

I can do this. I have a sweet boy visiting me this week and I just moisturized my hands.

Today your assignment is to eat somthing yummy, but healthy. It's the beginning of spring and there are so many great veggies just ready to be eaten. I'm still not able to eat the raw stuff, but go find a new recipe to cook with something great for spring. Make it simple, but fantastic. Use veggies/fruits that are in season. Cook for yourself or someone else. Make your family surprised.

I also want you to move. I've been working on my walking (as the steroids make your muscles a bit weak), so I want you all to get off your butts and move - dance - walk - yoga - whatever you can to get those muscles awake and alive for Spring. My favorite time of year!!

Thank you all so much for the comments and well wishes. It's been a rough week, but it's getting a bit brighter.

Maybe you should ask them to give you those steroids that Barry Bonds took.

deb, you sound 180 degrees better than you did a couple of days ago. i guess it was that hour-long administration of Zoe, huh?

i'm crossing all my fingers and toes, hoping you can get sprung this week.

I'm glad you're feeling better! What a nice present to get, a visit by the prettiest girl in the world!

Don't forget to tell everyone to enjoy the wonderful weather we're having in Houston this week. I hope you can get out and enjoy some spring air soon, and see the bluebonnets.

Oh, and I would like to add....

Thank you, thank you, thank for all the package and card senders, and comment makers.

When you are feeling punk, the days and nights grow long, and the cards, packages and comments really brighten the day.

Thanks for trying to kick cancer's ass in your own ways. :)

Oh, Deb, the poodle is wonderful -- almost as adorable as Zoe the Recent Birthday Girl! I was so pleased that you got to spend part of the day with her. You two are very lucky to have each other, and all of us out here are lucky to have you in our lives, even from the distance of the internet. Get well -- no, even weller -- fast, so that you can get settled into your new apartment.

WHEW HEW! We're going to have a party, we're going to have a party....The Debster is coming home! Yippee! I can't wait. ...oh won't this be soooo much fun! I can't wait! Everyone is there behind you, Deb, pushing your boutte out the door! Yippee!

Love you,
Denise :)

Well, I got out for a walk two days in a row. I have a new iPod and I am filling it full of fast dance music and getting outside and walking. I had a salad for supper last night, and I'll try to be just as healthy tonight.

But I am much happier to hear about your health, Deb, and see your pretty pink poodle from Zoe. You are amazing and my thoughts and prayers are always with you.

Out this week? I hope that's good enough to be true for you.

Here's hoping for more answered prayers this week. Good to hear you have a bit of an appetite and able to eat real food. Keeping you in my constant thoughts and prayers.

Hope you don't see this 3 times, cause I've typed it that many times and dunno where it went!!

Glad to hear that you're getting out soon! Here's praying that hope becomes a reality as soon as possible.

I'm glad you have spring there in Texas...because here in Nebraska, we have two feet of snow, courtesy of the first official day of spring. I guess we're paying for those 70+ degree days in February! It's a little late to get out and move for me today, but I plan on it in the morning. May even take the kids out to romp in the snow after work tomorrow!

The food part, slam dunk. Tonight's supper: Lemon Garlic Baked Tilapia, with Herb Rice and Steamed Carrots. EXTREMELY healthy, and so good that my meat-and-potatoes-with-a-side-of-butter hubby was really impressed!
