I am going to work out today. It's so nice to have a 3 day weekend now.
Other than that. I have no plans.
This is awesome.
I can do this. I have some groovy, kickass iTunes on my nano to workout to. And I'm all kinds of inspired.
Today your assignment is to do one healthy thing. Every day this week. I read your blogs and so many of you are struggling with weight issues or health issues. Take this week to set a few goals and DO THEM. If I can get my stupid weak thighs to the gym to ride the bike and lift a few weights, then you can step away from the ice cream or go for a post dinner walk. Make it a family event if you have a family. I made sure Zoe saw me doing some workout stuff so she knew I'm working on getting better and stronger. Hey. It's muy importante!! So Just Do It.
I love you Deb. Saturday evening I went for a long walk with my little radio with headphones. It took about 2 hours, and I tend to walk quickly. It was heaven!
This week, Phil is not going into work until 4- we are going to get our asses away from the computer, put down the yummy nutella spread on waffles, and go for walks. Its a start, and a good one.
YOU are an inspiration. Next time i'm in Texas, i'm definetly going to visit you (if thats ok with you, of course). My best friend lives there. He is an amazing guy. Phil even encourages me to go visit him- for a boyfriend to encourage his girlfriend to go visit a heterosexual male friend, you know hes amazing and honorable. And he's single ;-)
Love,
Dawn
I've battled obesity all my life. Three years ago, I managed to shed 180 lbs. off of a humongous 400 lb. frame. Then I got pregnant. And I got lazy. It's been almost a year and a half since I had the spawn, and I'm still in a constant battle.
But today, because you inspire me, and because I'm sick of feeling tired and fat all the time, I will get into my healthy habits of three years ago. Being extremely overweight is unhealthy, and I know that. And it's time to do something before it gets out of hand again.
Cheers to you, Deb. Enjoy your workout. I know I'll enjoy mine. :)

Posted by: moxiemomma at April 24, 2006 12:08 PMSTEP AWAY FROM THE ICE CREAM??? Nooooo!
Posted by: Sarcastic Journalist at April 24, 2006 01:15 PMOMG! SJ is cracking me up!
Here is how my philosophy works:
Eat the ice cream. But- walk to the store if its within 1 mile to get the ice cream, that way its all evened out, like you never had the ice cream.
I, personally, prefer Godiva Chocolate Raspberry. MMMMMMMM
Posted by: lawbrat at April 24, 2006 01:22 PMHey coincidence! I am actually in the process of spooning ice cream in my mouth while I'm reading your blog! But I have just spent the whole day writing my lesson plans for the new term so I think I deserve it. I promise I will go to the gym tomorrow Glad to hear you are able to spend some more time with Zoe :)
Posted by: lynne at April 24, 2006 03:38 PMHear, hear! Motion is life -- that's what I tell my clients at the gym and what I tell my children, and it's true. Even if you can't do what you did way back whenever, do what you can NOW! Just keep moving. I love you so much for this post!!!
Posted by: eclectic at April 24, 2006 06:58 PMDeb, love the post, it's so true if you do not use it you lose it. every little bit counts. enjoy your iTunes
nancy
Love your post!
If you keep moving, I will too. :o)
Hi, I just recently discovered your blog searching through the archives of a particular fashion blog, ahem. But I must say, reading your entries the past few days has really moved me to just step out of the box and live outside my miniscule life. You are a brilliant and strong woman, who still remains beautiful throughout the ordeals life throws at her. You're quite the inspiration. (:
Now! About my, um, five mile run? Oh lord.
Posted by: Kyla at April 24, 2006 11:30 PMI was healthy today!!!!
Thanks Deb. We move around quite a bit here.
I enjoyed my special welcome home from you.
Your special words mean very much to all of us.
Did Shoshie tell you the one kid was riding her
bike at 7am in her nightgown?
If you can do this we can do this.
I did my healthy thing last week - I called my doctor about my latest meds that were making me retain fluid, and got them switched back to one that was more friendly to my body. I've lost 6 pounds since last Wednesday. Nice to have clothes that fit again.
As soon as I get approval from the physical therapy people, I'll be back to the workouts too. Thanks for the kick in the ass. Err, motivation. (All the ice cream at my house is sugar-free.)
Posted by: Christine at April 25, 2006 01:01 AMI climbed up in an indoor playground today (the kind withlots of tubes and slides). Legs are killing me.
Totally worth it to hear my Bug squeal.
