Time Warner took a Time Out

I still have a fever. Like 99 - 100. It could just be the neupogen shots that I'm giving myself for that protocol study. Fever is a side effect. So is making you feel like you have the flu. Which is how I feel. Like caca poo poo.

Zoe got to spend the night last night. We had a sweet time watching "Free to Be You and Me" several times. Then we went out for Mexican food (and it was good). Zoe loves to play tic tac toe, so she and my mom played like 29308423 games. My mom is so patient. We came home and watched Seabuscuit. Then she snugged up in bed with me and we fell out. Later on, mom woke her up and put her in her own bed. It is so sweet to fall asleep with her. She always smells so good.

Friday night she got to spend the night at D1's house. She loves going there and talks about it all the time. Thanks D1 for taking her - it really helped us out. You truly are an amazing friend. Everyone should be so lucky to have friends like that.

The other night, about 3am, I woke up and was like... woah. It's hot as heck in here. AND it was dark as all get out. Apparently some car ran into an electrical pole or something - our whole apartment complex's power was out for a few hours. Of course, I was bored, so I decided to take some pictures. Mom had the big flashlight, so I had Zoe's Halloween flashlight.

Isn't he scary looking?

He also has this stencil on the top so he can flash a pumpkin on the wall:

It was pretty dark, but I fit a pumpkin on my head:

So the next morning we had some major thunderstorms. And apparently our Time Warner went out. No cable, no wireless or digital phone. It was out for a long time, so I wasn't able to update or get email.

Other than that, it's been pretty slow. I've been taking it easy. Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes. I really want this fever to go away. I've been on antibiotics for like 4-5 days and it's not going away. That really makes me nervous. I'm not allowed to take Tylenol or anything else to make it go away either. Because if it gets over 101 I have to go to the ER.

I can do this. No fever is going to get me down.

Your assignment today is and oldie but a goodie. I was at that restaurant yesterday and they had all these yummy salads on the menu. So today I want you to make a spectacular salad. Put all kinds of fresh stuff in it. Or make your own dressing. I swear when I am able to eat salads, I'm going to eat one every single day. If you don't want a salad, make yourself some veggie thing - like a casserole or dip or something good.

Mmmmm. Veggies!

I love you. And your little dog Toto too.

Whew! So glad to hear it was only a power outage that kept you from posting. You've been on my mind constantly. I'm sorry you're still feeling poorly, but glad you're not in the hospital.

Love the punkinhead pic--it's great!

I'm off to church to say a few prayers for you. Rest up and feel better.

The fever is NOT going to get you down. No way, no how. I refuse!! Yes, you have to listen to me.

Thats what we're going to have for dinner- a giant, yummy salad with homemade dressing. I make one with some olive oil, heated up, sautee in some garlic, fresh tomatoes, and then pour it over the salad with lots of veggies and some basalmic(sp?) vinegar, and YUMMY!!

Love,
Dawn

Hi Deb,
Love the pic's, you never seem to waste a minute. you are so creative.
I was on-line reading the Boston Globe when i found this article about Mary Travers from the Peter ,Paul and Mary Group: she recievied her BMT one year ago and is doing great.here is the headline:

Folk legend Mary Travers speaks out for bone marrow drive: the article is asking every one to volunteer to be a Bone Marrow Donor for Mother's Day. the article ends with:
"Whether your mother is 18 or 98, everyone has a mother and every mother wants a healthy, happy life for her child,". "What could be more meaningful for your mother than giving the gift of life for another mother's child?"
More information on joining the registry can be obtained by calling (800) Marrow-2.

I thought this might make just one more person join the registry. I do not know if you have a special registry or not but what the heck any registry is good. Do it for DEB, Zoe and every Mother who child is fighting Deb's fight.
Hope your fever stays low or goes and I'm gald Zoe got to spend the night with you.
Peace and Health
Nancy
sorry for the long post

Time Warner is always the last to recover.
I'm dreaming of salads, strawberries, fresh red tomatos off the vine....but nooooooo, I can't have them yet. Can't actually taste anything either, it all tastes like sawdust or sand. Oh, well.

Dawn, that dressing sounds yummy. I'm going to make a big salad today, too. Also some strawberry shortcake (maybe strawberry-rhubarb) with coconut cream. Drooling.

Hey I walked three miles yesterday! Can't walk today, but so what!

Mmmm, I want some of lawbrat's salad dressing. We shall have a scrumptious salad tonight, and raise our little forks in your honor. Thanks for the get-moving incentive, too, Deb. As I told you, truth is, whether or not I feel like it, I CAN. So I am, I have, we are. We are enjoying an actual Springtime in Maryland, the first in many years. With weather between high 50s and low 80s, perfect for lots of playing outside.

I know how crappy an ongoing fever can make you feel. You are in my prayers every day. 98.6, soon.

FEEL BETTER!

I'm so glad Zoe got to snuggle and stay over last night. But pumpkin on the head? Kinda skirry! ;)

No salad for me today, sweetie. I've discovered the Thai Express wagon down the road, and I'm longing to try their food.

I won't mention that we're making cupcakes today. Baby cupcakes, to dress in white and blue (with a layer of melted Andes candies in between mmmmmm), and some with greenery, to lay out in the shape of a bluebonnet. A friend from Texas flies in tomorrow, and they're for her. We won't make her eat them all, though...

Can I turn this one in for late credit? I could totally do a salad tomorrow.

I'm one of those who buys the fresh veggies with good intentions. They are so yummy when they are nice and fresh. But then they sit. And then they don't look so yummy. And a lot of them end up in the composter.

But not tonight. Tonight I will make fresh veggies and dip. (No lettuce right now, so I am improvising.)

I also spent a long time working in the garden today. Inefficiently, as always. ;-)

we are a very veggie household, so we eat fresh veggies every day. i just got home, so today i didn't get to do the assignment, but i will do it tomorrow :) (i did walk 20 miles, though! longest yet and whoa are my dogs a barkin'). had veggie pizza for dinner tonight--does that count a teeny bit?

hope that fever goes away soon because you don't need no stinkin' fever! and a big yay for snugging up with zoe!

Fever fever go away....the feeling of a fever is the worst! I hope it blows away this week and you are feeling better. I had a salad tonight nothing fancy other than the fact that it was made for me, which is spectacular!

I'll be sure to make a salad tonight. Could the infection be in your central line? That happens a lot with cancer patients when central lines have been in a long time...

Hope you find the source.

Where did you eat your Mexican food? Molina's is my favorite! When I was pregnant with my son, we would go there every weekend because I had to have their guacamole. And boy do they make some strong margaritas!

I really hope you are feeling better...I hate that caca-poopoo feeling!
