Ms. Spears is telling all in some tv interviews today. She says she doesn't care what other people think of her. Stating. The. Obvious?
I slept about five hours last night and couldn't get back to sleep. So 5:30am was it for me. I'm so not diggin it. I'm slowly making my way round the internet. I hadn't read any of my regular blogs in weeks. It's going to take me a few weeks to catch up I think.
There is a news story that really is bothering me. These two scumbags tried to rob this couple who were at a payphone. They didn't have any money. So the scum carjacked the couple's SUV after they made the kids in the car get out. Then they drove off, but not until after they ran over the couple's two year old, who died. The two year old's birthday is today.
I hate Houston sometimes. I hate when we have stories like these. I don't watch the news that often, but when we get a story like this, it just disgusts me.
Sometimes I wish I lived in a small town. As long as they have a taco cabana, I'd be all right. I am pretty sure that we will be moving to San Antonio though with my folks (I'm sure they are thrilled, not). No other option seems to work right now. At least it's an option. I'm just blessed to have it.
I don't think I'm quite able to take care of myself and Zoe by myself just yet. I still am pretty weak and get tired easily. Part of this is because my red blood cell count, while it's high enough, still isn't in the normal range. So my body has a hard time carrying oxygen to my lungs, muscles, etc. They started me on Procrit to help with that, but for now, I do get a little winded. Baby steps.
Did I tell y'all my hair is growing? Hee. it looks like a baby. It's still thin and has bald spots, but it's soft like a baby chick and jet black.
[aside] Get off the tv George Bush and Iraq. Approval ratings. Bleh. I want to hear Brit Brit tell all. Matt Lauer asks her, "are you a good mom?" I can't wait to hear what she has to say. She's so trashy it's delicious.
Ok. Zoe will be awake soon. She sleeps in the other room with my mom (they have a trundle bed). Then every morning around 7:30 she comes and knocks on my door. I love seeing her. She always wears one of my shirts to bed and it is hu-mang-ous (that's how she says it). Then she comes in and snuggles and watches cartoons. We hang out until she tells me she's hungry for breakfast. Mom sleeps late, so I make breakfast for the both of us. (I'm gettiing good at the egg thing) She sure is adorable.
I can do this. I have Taco Cabana.
Your assignment today is to hydrate. I woke up at 3am and was really thirsty. I often think I don't drink enough water. So today, I want you to purposely focus on getting at least 8 glasses or more today. It's great for your kidneys. And makes your skin look really good too. So drink up.
I thought this was funny

Hi Deb! Happy Thursday! :)
Posted by: CircusKelli at June 15, 2006 08:15 AMI can't wait to see the interview with Britney tonight too - I love that kinda juicy stuff!
I love the assignment today - now THAT I can do!
(have been bad about exercising but I'm joining Curves tomorrow!)
Have a great day Deb!
Yay for hair! Your thick luscious locks will be back before you know it. Sharkey is a testament to that.
I really hope that you find old Deb locked up in there behind all of the fatigue and insomnia. I have faith that she's making a comeback. The living in a small town (with a Taco Cabana) gave me the morning giggles.
Posted by: ieatcrayonz at June 15, 2006 08:57 AMI'm really happy you get to be with Zoe. She's quite the snuggler.
The good thing about S.A. it's the birthplace of Taco Cabana. Therefore, I believe that one can only experience True Taco Cabana Nirvana in San Antonio (particularly at the Hildabrant/San Padro location.)
SUDOKU!
Posted by: SIS #2 at June 15, 2006 09:33 AMOoooh, I'm all over the water thing.
You made me hungry for TC, but I think I'll hit Chipotle today.
Posted by: Kami at June 15, 2006 11:08 AMOh, and I can't like Brit or the Shrub. :)
Posted by: Kami at June 15, 2006 11:08 AMcongrats on the hair front!
it's so nice to hear you sounding like yourself again...
Posted by: blackbird at June 15, 2006 11:59 AMOOOOH OOOOH. In San Antonio, you'll be really close by to me. We'll have to have a girls day and play.
Posted by: Dawn at June 15, 2006 12:07 PMYay for fuzzy hair growing!!! And for mexican food. Yum!

That cartoon is so right-on! Glad to see you getting back to your wise, witty self.....hair and all.
Taco Cabana is great, but we also liked Los Barrios back when we lived in San Antonio. I haven't had a good tamale since we moved 12 years ago.
Keep drinking those fluids! I need to go get some water myself, now that I have been reminded.

Posted by: Laurel at June 15, 2006 06:37 PMThe hydration thing. There ought to be a bracelet for that. Not enough people are aware of it.
Posted by: Philosophical Karen at June 15, 2006 06:39 PMLOL...I love the bracelet cartoon...it pisses me off that so many people have bastardized Lance Armstrong's idea, and aren't using it to raise funds for charity.
Posted by: amanda at June 15, 2006 08:25 PMI don't know why, but Taco Cabana always puts a music bug in my ear via Coca Cabana.
"At the Taco, Taco Cabaanaaa..."
Hi Deb
sound like your feeling better every day. from my experience with the dreaded menigitis it took me weeks before i was back to my "normal schedule". it was really brain drain for me.
I'm glad your hair is coming back in, it must be exciting to think of a new hair style.
I hope you have a good week end, I'm thinking of you and your Zoe
Oh, I so have to chime in on the Britney thang! I saw her last night, couldn't stomache the whole interview, but what I did see was soooo amazing to me! How could someone that looks that cheap and appears to be that stupid make soooo much money? Will ya tell me the secret? The girl even had her chewed off fingernails painted a gaudy maroon color so it was soooo obvious the girl didn't have any nails! Why didn't she get a decent manicure...do you think that Matt just dropped by her place and didn't make an appointment? She should have at least had her hair done, gotten a manicure and picked out a better shirt so her BOOBS weren't hanging all out and exposed like that! My goodness, the girls 7 months preggers and her milk filled jugs were down to her navel, for Heavens Sake! Trashy, oh my gosh, trashy! She would so fit on that show, "My Name is Earl"....that should be her next stop!
Okay, I'm done now. If you would have caught me last night when I was watching the show, the ranting and raving would have been worse, but I had no one to rant to! Unbelieveable is all I can say.
You'd think with $110 Million Dollars she could afford a manicure and a hair do!
Okay, honestly, I'm done!
'Grats on the hairs! Tears for the move to SA
:(
but M & D are good places to fall!
Love you...be careful in the gym. The gym stuff worries me!
Love you (again)
Denise :)
Congrats on the baby hair! Congrats on being stronger! Congrats on a whole new life!
You can do this, Deb. :)
You ARE doing this.
Posted by: Gracie at June 16, 2006 02:19 PMThe vision of Zoe coming in to snuggle and watch cartoons brought tears to my eyes!
SO GLAD YOU'RE HOME!!!!
alan
Posted by: alan at June 16, 2006 03:12 PMWhy was Brit chewing that gum non-stop?
But you with new baby chick hair-now that is awesome. New hair, new chapter in your life, all
these new things. Life is grand. You are grand.

Posted by: Toto at June 16, 2006 08:58 PMDeb,
Glad you get to spend time with Zoe. I know its so hard when our kids are gone for even a weekend.
All my kids have grown up and moved out. They still call every day though. thank goodness for cell phones.
You can use this time to heal and gain your strength so when she comes home she can see her mommy is feeling a little better.
When my kids whre little and they would have to go on a school camping trip or scout jamboree I would think of that song Linda Rohnstadt sang in the movie with the little Jewish mouse. I think it's called "Somewhere Out There." I still cry when I hear it... so touching.
Stay strong baby. Have a great weekend.
Out here in the middle, wishing on rainbows.

Posted by: Maui Cos. at June 16, 2006 10:22 PMSo great to see your posts, Deb.
Darn, I missed the Britney interview but I'm sure I would've had a running commentary on her appearance and parenting skills, or rather lack thereof.
Baby-chick hair is so, so nice even if it looks a tad sketchy. :) Seriously, Cody's 'reading' of how he's doing comes not only in how his body feels but how his hair is doing. It's not something that everyone understands but is a muy grande deal! Cody's bio-dad just did a hack-job on Cody's so the whole issue is a priority here... Revel in it and enjoy the feel of it!
So glad that you and Zoe have precious times together now and many more to come.
Love the cartoon, too. I wear a www.CureSearch.org bracelet - pretty green and people ask about it so it is more of a conversation starter and reminds me that I still need to do more work on fundraising for cancer research... so yeah, I'm guilty. :)
We've been guzzling water here and still can't get past feeling parched. Whatever happened to a nice afternoon rain to cool things down and water the world?
hey!
thinking of you today and hope you are doing okay...
Posted by: blackbird at June 18, 2006 12:05 PMOh sweet Deb...you've been in my thoughts so much..
And I resonate with the Taco Cabana. Our Taco Cabana here in Ft. Wayne, IN closed last year and we have been in mourning ever since...
However, if anyone deserves the Taco Cabana you do...so enjoy, and order the bean and cheese nachos and a margarita for me.
Take care, m'dear.
