It's Hammer Time

I have been on sleeping pills for the past two days.

I wake up feeling hammered. It's like I haven't slept. So I don't know if I want to keep taking them. I'm a zombie. But it's probably good for me because I end up sleeping about 5 hours interrupted. We'll see tonight.

But

I'm sitting here waiting for the NBC interview with bobblehead Star Jones. What a freak show she is. I'm actually kind of giddy. I used to sort of like her until she started plugging sponsors for her wedding. They even have a website.

I still can't believe she got "sponsors" for her wedding. Over a million dollars in jewelry. Payless shoes. A 27 foot veil ("the longest in history") Bling bling crystals on her flowers..

Star Jones married banker Al Reynolds on November 13, 2004. The wedding was held at Saint Bartholomew's Church in New York City in front of 500 guests, and featured three matrons of honor, 12 bridesmaids, two junior bridesmaids, three best men, 12 groomsmen, three junior groomsmen, six footmen, four ring bearers, and four flower girls. More than 30 corporate "sponsors" donated wedding attire and merchandise for the event, in exchange for mentions on The View and on Jones Reynolds' website.

It was so over the top that it was disgusting. I'm glad she's gone. She could not be more self-absorbed and annoying.

I just made some coffee. So I'm fixin to go drink it.

I can do this. I have chocolate coffee.

Your assignment today is to have a picnic. Fix or buy some stuff and if it's not a weather friendly day, put down a cloth in your living room on the floor and turn on some music. Even if it's just you. There is just something very summery about picnics. If you can, make sure you have some fresh veggies and fruit. I made a great turkey/apple salad yesterday. Yum.

What a great assignment! We're having "luau" here at work! :) Here's hoping you get some better rest and don't wake up feeling hammered anymore.

Hugs to you!

That is such a cool assignment. I wanted to eat my lunch outside today, but the breeze started picking up and as I looked to the west, big black clouds were approaching. I had just enough time to clean up the yard and run inside before the rain started pelting down and thunder started rolling. So I ate at the kitchen table and watched the storm through the patio doors. Not quite a picnic, but close. Now that the kids are finished school, my son and I will probably eat our lunch outdoors whenever the weather permits.

All hail fresh fruits and veggies! I have been trying like mad to do the Anti-Cancer Diet, which is pretty much just as many fruits and veggies as you can cram down your throat. When I'm having trouble mustering up the balls to eat yet another carrot stick or celery stalk (HATE!) I always think of you, Deb, since you had to go so long without them! Keep on keeping on,

Why do those who "have" always want more/free things and those who "have not" often have too much pride to accept any offers for help. Her whole story either sickens me or makes me sad I have not decided yet.

happy 4th weekend!

I was never really a fan of Star, but I dislike the way ABC handled her firing. It was wrong of Barbara to ask her to lie and say she quit. Too bad since Rosie and Star would have made for interesting TV.

Well, we ate in a different location with a different view - Taco Bell... lol! Maybe a picka-nicka tomorrow.

Are you able to take Benadryl? Cody's onc has said that if he's having trouble sleeping that the Benadryl might help. Don't know if it's strong enough to knock you out like you need, but I do know that mental health is dependent on decent sleep (90% sleep, 10% other factors) or so I'm told. I hope the sandman and Mrs. Havesham can work out a compromise for your sake!

I am totally digging the Star jones fiasco. I tell you what: I was totally tired of seeing her and those saggy (until the 'lift) boobs every morning.

Aloha Deb,

Hope you got some sleep last night. I know when you get in the routine of being awakened every few hours for something after a while our bodies decide that's what they're supposed to do. Same thing happens to new mothers. You're normal routine has been seriously disrupted. You will get back your sleep patterns. Soon I hope.

That wasn't a wedding it was a circus. I am surprised she did not sell tickets.

Yummy salad you made.

I did go for ice cream with the niece and nephew.
Does that count?
It was the three of us (Until Gramma and Papa finally arrived) and we had so much fun just sitting there and eating our treats. :oD

Yeah, got to admit I'm enjoying the Star mess myself. She had just become unbearable, even giving relationship advice on AOL. PLEASE.

And she DOES have a giant bobblehead, doesn't she?
