Angel Wings

Quick entry. Cleaning out my email, I found the lovliest email from March from a mom of the sweetest boy. I realized I had not replied to her (which I really hate to do). I went to look at her son's site to see how he was doing. What I read made me sob. Her son, Kadin, relapsed and died post-transplant.

Talofa Friends! My name is Kadin and I am 5 years old. This is the story of my life and my battle with leukemia. I was diagnosed when I was 5 months old and relapsed in September 2005 after more than 3 years in remission. I earned my Angel Wings on May 2, 2006 after experiencing severe complications from my stem cell transplant...

I hate cancer. Please help me raise a million. I am going to do it even if I make myself live to be 100 years old.

I can do this. I am doing this. My hatred of cancer will make me live to fight this.

Oh no! I had actually been visiting Kadin's website for quite some time. Bless their hearts. I'm so sad to read this.

Keep up the good fight, girl.

Alrighty, the post about your L&LS campaign is up at my site too. I'll stay posted...and had a few thoughts...whaddya think about doing an online fundraising campaign together for our respective causes? Something like a "Kick Cancer's Ass" blog-a-thon, or an anti-pink ribbon campaign next month (something like "forget breast cancer, donate money to leukemia research!!") I have to write an Anti-Pink Ribbon piece for BlogHer anyhow. Drop me an email...

Sweet Kadin. I follewed him during his transplant. They are a very special family and he was one amazing little guy. I cried rivers of tears for him.

My LTN walk is coming up and it's YOU and little dudes like Kadin that keep me going. Every $ counts. The cure is out there...

I'm thankful that you are here to do GS and soccer with Zoe.

God Bless you Deb. I have faith you will raise
a million dollars. You go girl. We gave to your
walk. We raised "a pretty penny here for our
local walk."
