Grab yer barf bags.
I am the now officially the Queen of Phlegm.

(waaaaay too many Google images for phlegm)

I caught the cold that everybody and their momma has/had around this place. This place is now known as

Did you know that there is such a thing as Turbid Phlegm?
Here:
Tongue Appearance: Thick, sticky, "soy cheese" or what we might call in the west "peanut butter" coating. This is a clear manifestation of phlegm. It looks heavy, turbid, and sticky which is pretty much consistent with its effect on the body's systems as well. It gums up the nervous system's ability to do its job too. This is the cause of your headache.
My tongue is now "soy cheese."

Ok. Maybe not. But me. Me. No. Feel. Well.
see the pain in my noggin

(still puffy from the 'roids, but look at all that hair)
I called my oncologist this morning. They are calling in some antibiotics for me, and now want me to go in Wednesday. They are just trying to be on the safe side, but I hate to take antibiotics if I don't really need them.
Oh yeah. Another reason not to smoke/ to quit smoking:

Turkey day was fun. We really missed Sis #1 and Sis #3, but everyone else was here. Elvis showed up with some Jesus wine (I don't know what it was, and didn't drink any, but everyone said it was smooooove), and a good time was had by all. The kids and my bros played football like the Kennedys, and then everyone played "faux" football on the Playstation or Ninetiendo or whatever it was. I love my family. We make the cutest kids of all time.
Ok. Time for some turkey navilidad (kiddin' - sammiches).
I can do this. Even with the head cold.
Your assignment for today is to post your favorite turkey leftover recipe or your favorite thing to eat for Thanksgiving. Hope you all had a good one.

So if you got a lot of turkey left, you can make turkey enchiladas out of it. This is our recipe for enchiladas. My dad would kill me if he knew I was giving it out ;D.
Enchilada pie stuff.
1 can of red enchilada sauce (16oz?)
1 can of cream of chicken
1 can of chicken broth
1 can of minced olives
1 bunch of green onions, chopped
Lots of tortillas
Lots of shredded cheddar cheese
A slab of that queso enchilado Mexican cheese
Turkey or chicken, however much you desire
So you take a big pot and dump in the enchilada sauce, the cream of chicken, and the chicken broth. Heat it up, stir it around, etc. Shred up the turkey (or chicken) and dump it in the pot, along with the olives and mix it all together. Then you line the bottom of a 9x13 pan with tortillas. Put some of the turkey enchilada sauce mixture all over it. Then add some chopped green onions on top, then however much cheddar cheese you want. Then take a piece of the queso enchilado and crumble it over the top (this cheese is fairly salty, so be careful). Repeat the layers like this again. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees until cheese is melted. Enjoy!
Posted by: Jessica at November 26, 2006 05:40 PMDeb, I'm hoping you whip that cold in a hurry!
My favorite leftover turkey recipe is Turkey Salad Sammiches - one that my mom used to make every Monday during the summer. She was the cook at a summer camp in the New Mexico mountains 18 miles above Las Vegas (NM). We the whole shebang every Thursday: turkey, dressing, mashed 'taters & homemade gravy. My Mom was amazing in running the kitchen as this was all done on one wood cookstove & one large gas stove. We washed dishes by hand and began peeling potatoes right after lunch dishes were put away. She ran a tight ship and made it look so easy to feed 300+ campers per meal. (Too bad I didn't get much of her talent - my job was to taste test everything - heh!)
Anyway, grind up the leftover turkey, mix with Miracle Whip salad dressing, toss in chopped up dill pickles & a bit of pickle juice if you like the salad moist, a bit of yellow mustard (not much), celery and any seasonings you like. Spread over whole wheat bread and chow down!
Posted by: Bren / Cody'sMom at November 26, 2006 08:26 PMI love STUFFING and gravy!!! And cranberries... and leftover turnkey sandwiches with mayo and a bit of salt. OMG...I've become my mother! That's the way she ate them!
Posted by: Traci at November 26, 2006 08:51 PMSorry you have the icky head cold, but wow--whatta headful of hair! :o)
My recipe for leftovers...sorry, we don't have leftovers in our house, but if we ever did, I think we'd use lots of gravy. Or cheese. I dunno.
Most of it gets eaten that night in the light of the open fridge door whilst the person in question stands there in pajamas and a slight feeling of food-induced euphoria. It's good! ;oD
I dispute your claim to the throne of Queen of Phlegm, ok maybe you can be the USA Queen of Phlegm, but presently I am the right, Honorable Queen of Phlegm in London Town. Maybe Queen Lizzie herself has a cold? Who knows but I betcha as I type she’s tucked up in bed with an M&S feather duvet anda good book.
Hey, but seriously I hope your feeling better soon, very glad you could celebrate Turkey Day with your family. Hugs.
