Zoe on the Go-ey

I spoke with Zoe's dad this morning about her trip to NY for the summer. He said he will get her around the 7th of June or so and return her around the 21st of July. She gets so excited to go up there. All her little NY girl friends are waiting for her as they have a day camp there and then she goes swimming. I get sad to miss her, but I love that she has such a good time.

And then, and then...

On July 22nd I will be FORTY!!!

How cool is that to have another birthday? I'm so lucky. I feel so so lucky.

So. I guess that means I will be in Houston for my 40th birthday. Good as time as any to have a huge celebration if you want to come on out. Just let me know and I will be sure to fill you in on the details. I would love to have some of my out of towners fly in for it (probably on Saturday, July 21st). I even have a sweet little hotel place or two.

Hmmm. I like to plan parties. Maybe I can even make it a fundraiser. Hey. That would be way cool. Ok. So it is written, so it is done.

I can do this. My little bird-talker and I are on a mission.

Your assignment today is to let me know if you think you could make it in. That would be so awesome to see you all as you've been so very special to me. Also, if you think of a big ass venue/restaurant, let a girl know.

I've been missing you, my internets. *Mwah* to Allison S. Your CD is divine. Zoe adores it and requested it last night to fall asleep to. I've also been missing my Shoshie and my sisters. I have much love today. I'm very motivated.

Happy Happy Birthday...even if it IS a couple months early! Houston in July? Isn't that like so hot you can barely stand it? How exciting for Zoe to spend time with her NY girlies!

Hey Deb - I'm sending you even MORE love! Sorry I haven't been around - have been dealing with a bunch of junk right now. I still read all of the time though and continue to send up prayers of thanks for your health. 40 is an awesome number!!!
I would love to come - truly love to but doubt it will be possible. I have two very small children and my hubby is pretty old fashioned (ie mom takes care of them !) LOL
Great big hugs

I know EXACTLY how you feel about being excited to have another birthday. People who complain about getting older have no idea.

Wish I could make it to your party!

Venue in Houston for a Sunday, I'm guessing that since Zoe will be just back from NY that she will be there so kids would present...let's see....hard to tell on the size, but here are some options:

Escalante's (Tex-Mex) and Guadalajara (Tex-Mex) are busy relatively kid-friendly places with private rooms and margaritas. Ciro's (Italian) near Memorial City Mall has some 3 private rooms that can be opened to create one bigger albeit long room. Hugo's (Mex-Mex) may have be able to do something on the patio, but in July the risk of heat and rain. Good food though. If you really want to go upscale and get a nice room for some more serious fundraising, Brennan's might be nice. Very festive for a 40th birthday.

Just a few ideas, hope they help.

God bless.

DEBS!!!

How marvelous. I am so so so so pleased for you. 40. A HUGE step forward for those of us living post BMT.

I cannot make it as my big news is that on June 24th I will be in Kentucky meeting my BMT donor - my hero. :)

And, that is all the flying you get out of me. I don't fly unless I absolutely have to.

Even so, I would ask for gifts that signify 40 and live changing events. (My sister will be 40 on July 3rd and I am sending her a silver tea set we inherited from our g'parents and does not get used).

Blessings, Lori
