Two weeks from today I will be 40!
What to do? What to do?
I'm not even sure which city I will be in - San Antonio, Austin (most likely) or Houston. So when I'm in your city, let's celebrate!

Forty. It wasn't too bad to face the 40 milestone - like 30 except I was better able to accept it and looked forward to it with the same expectation that it would be more comfy and I'd appreciate the well-wornness that would come with it like you'd experience with a great pair of shoes.

I used to work at a mom and pop bakery in Ohio and the woman who decorated the cakes and barely tolerated us college girls working the counter made these cakes for your very occaison that said 'Lordy Lordy Look who's Forty", with a bikin'd pair of 'cake mounds'....somehow that very phrase became my sigh of sorts....sitting in traffic '....Lordy lordy look who's forty ( under my breath )...seeing an old friend for the first time in a long time ( high and loud, and they were never forty ) and the list goes on.
I think you are going to be a wonderful forty year old and I can say now with great joy and more realism than every before ---
"LORDY LORDY LOOK WHO'S FORTY!!!!!"
